From pit mods and tank conversions to signature backyard and competition models, Iron Oak BBQ Pits builds on the principles of traditional American barbecue
Iron Oak BBQ Pits, in Las Vegas, was born out of the love for barbecue and fabrication by founder and operator Chuck Wilson. After modifying a used Char-Broil Silver Smoker that was given to him by a friend in 2016, his passion for both crafts found traction when his research and development yielded immediate results on his first pit makeover.
The instant gratification of tender and tasty barbecue, on a pit that he redesigned, fueled his desire to create his own high quality backyard and competitive model pit smokers for serious pitmasters who want to deliver consistently delicious and properly rendered barbecue every cook.
With each pit modification and tank conversion, the overall emphasis was on creating even temps across the entire cooking surface of the BBQ pit. When you think about it, what good is having 1000 square inches of cooking surface if you can only use 75% of it? Using the principles of convection and conductive heat transfer, Chuck set out to direct the heat proportionally from the semi-insulated fire box to all zones of the cooking chamber making temperature control and fire management a breeze.
