I am very happy with my Iron Oak 60 pit. It is extremely well made with perfectly fitting cook chamber and fire box doors. The welds through out demonstrate craftsmanship from someone who really cares about their work. The temps are even across the cooking grates and are easily adjusted with the exhaust damper as it draws well. The pit is heavy but is easy to move on high quality casters. (They even have grease zerk fittings) The folding shelf is ingenious. I am three cooks along and each one gets better. This is a great tool and amazing smoker.
Probably the most important point I would like to make is the business end of my purchase. The pit was ready when promised, cost exactly as was quoted and I was kept informed via pictures and texts through out the build. The world would be a better place with more people like Chuck.

Jeff! Wow! I am honored and humbled by your review as it justifies my intense scrutiny during a pit build. I may take a few days to a week longer than most pit builders, but ease of use and customer satisfaction is most important at the end of the process. The little details that you mentioned add up when cooking and maintaining your pit. Thanks again for allowing me to build your ideal smoker. I’m happy to hear you are dialing it in and making it your own. Now, it’s my turn to get the pictures and texts updating me on your progress as a backyard pitmaster! May you and Rene stay blessed always!
